About Me
Deepthy is an attorney, emerging playwright, and fine art photographer based in Atlanta. A lifelong theatergoer and logophile, Deepthy writes comedies and dramas that are fast-paced and feature lionhearted persons of color faced with high-stakes decisions. In her own life, by contrast, Deepthy spends much of her time fighting her sugar addiction, recovering her lost passwords, and being manipulated by her impossibly fluffy, 12-pound maltipoo.
Deepthy is a founding member of the Telling Humans Playwrights Studio and a member of the Working Title Playwrights group based in Atlanta. She is also a network playwright with the Chicago Dramatists, and a member of the Dramatists Guild of America and the Playwrights Center.
She majored in English at Rice University and studied public health at Columbia University before graduating from law school at Emory University. She is also an adjunct law professor at Emory, where she teaches trial techniques, and her fine art photographic images have been exhibited with Lenscratch magazine and the Santa Fe School of Photography.
